GENERAL DESCRIPION:

The PE-1120-AS and PE-1121-AS are both part ejection light sensors. Each unit was developed as a simple and economical but highly reliable way for sensing small parts moving at high speeds, typical air blow off, through an area or window of detection. Each system consists of two self-contained units: an emitter and a receiver. Both units are available, differing in range and resolution. The emitters are designed using multiple infrared LEDs aligned in a row which are strobed ( turn on one at a time ) in a specific sequence at a high frequency. The receivers contain a matching array of sensors. The height of both part ejection sensors are 3.5 inches (90mm). Using the PE-1120-AS the receiver may be placed 4 to 48 inches opposed to the emitter.

This unit has the capability of detecting objects as small as 0.3 inches in diameter. Using the PE-1121-AS the receiver may be placed 4 to 8 inches opposed to the emitter. This unit has the capability of detecting parts as small as 0.22 inches in diameter. Both systems are ideal for part ejection applications. NOTE: Sensing should not take place within 1/2 inch of either lens surface.

A cost effective benefit of using part ejection array sensors compared to in die sensors is the simple fact that if space is available for mounting these sensors in a common part ejection direction or location, one system offers the possibility of detecting parts for a variety of dies with similar part ejection characteristics. Whereas, using in die sensors for part ejection such as proximity or photo-electric, requires each die to be fitted with a sensor. Part ejection array sensing can save not only the time and implementation of mounting single sensors but also money!

GENERAL DESCRIPION:

The RS-1411-AS and RS-1414-AS are self-contained solid state part ejection ring sensors. The unit operates on 10 to 30 volts dc with configuration of output contacts of either normally-open or normally-closed. The unit is offered in two styles either Sinking output (NPN) or Sourcing output (PNP) type. See part numbers below for ring diameter size and output types of Sinking or Sourcing. The minimum object sensitivity varies with the ring diameter size, see object sensitivity Note.

The unit comes complete with inductive ring sensor head and attached switching amplifier. An adjustable gain control allows for sensitivity adjustment of the sensor with an LED indicator light which indicates that the part is detected.

GENERAL DESCRIPION:

The dynamic optical window sensors offer unique solutions for sensing small objects. The sensor consists of an array of infrared emitters and receivers that cover the entire area inside the aluminum frame (active window). The sensor is dynamic in that it only response to moving objects. Therefore, slow moving objects or placed objects in the sensing field will not be detected.

Standard features of the dynamic optical frame sensors include two potentiometers for adjusting the sensitivity and length of the output pulse (one-shot). The sensitivity adjustment is useful for controlling the unwanted detection of oil mist and the one-shot adjustment prolongs the output signal so that your die protection system has necessary time to respond to the part signal. In addition an LED is furnished to indicate power to the sensor and when the output of the sensor is conducting.

The PW-4119-AS part ejection window sensors offers the finest resolution possible. Objects as small as 0.8mm in diameter ( 0.031 inch) can be detected. The output signal configuration can be wired as either an NPN (sinking) or PNP (souring) so the optical window sensors have the ability to connect to a large variety of standard die protection equipment.
