 KTI series 6120 Safety Light Curtains protect machine operators from hazards associated with operating machinery by extending a columnated "curtain of light" in front of the dangerous area. If the workers hand interrupts the light curtain, a signal is sent within milliseconds to the stop circuit of the machine.

The 6120 series Safety Light Curtain are technologically advanced units designed to scan distances up to 42 feet. Selective area blanking is what makes the 6120 series unique. This feature permits conveyors and other process equipment to pass through the light curtain while instantly shutting down the machine if unauthorized interruption by an operator or passerby should occur above or below the blanked area.

Another characteristic of blanking is that unauthorized removal of the obstruction in the blanked area can be set to generate a stop signal, ensuring continuous personnel protection.

The 6120B (Blanking Series) includes a memory feature that permits preprogrammed alterations of the protective zone during a machine cycle. This feature can be used to turn off an area of the safety light curtain to allow an object or a part to pass through and than be turned back on again to re-protect that area. The dual standard control system 6120-2 series is available where front and back guarding is necessary without blanking. This dual system consists of 2-projectors, 2-receivers operated from one standard control box.

The 6120 series, Like all KTI Technologies safety products, contain fail safe circuitry. If components within the system fail, a stop signal is instantly sent to the press or machine, disabling it until the failure is corrected. The 6120 Safety Light Curtains are compact and housed in rugged enclosures. A double locked security system on the blanking models prevent unauthorized tampering.

Extended scanning range and selective area blanking make the 6120 series the ideal system for protecting presses and automated assembly equipment where it is necessary to selectively pass material or process equipment through the Safety Light Curtain Protective zone.

The 6120 series employs a tranmitter and receiver system which allows for easy alignment. The transmitter emits a modulated infrared light shield that is monitored by the receiver unit. Like all KTI products every unit is backed by a full one year warranty.
